Hilton Head Callawassie Island Club, SC Wedding Photographer | Jimmy and Michelle

After a few weeks and a sneak peek here and there and experiencing their amazing engagement session in Savannah, we show you all the full blog post for Jimmy + Michelle and their Hilton Head wedding. Although we touched on a bit about how their story unfolded, there’s nothing like hearing it directly from them and how each of them experienced their lives during from their dating days through engagement and on to this very special day.

The Couple: Brides Point of View

Jimmy and I met at our Kingdom Hall when he moved down from Connecticut. He was very shy and barely talked and I just crushed from far away until one weekend he went up to visit my cousins and she insisted he get to know me. The following day, October 17^th he contacted me and since then we have grown to be best friends. He made it very easy to let my guard down (since I was the type who claimed I would never get married… people even recorded me for proof!). We were friends for a while before we started dating officially. The following year on July 26, 2014 a very hot summer day my best friends and I planned a weekend to do things off of our bucket list (a list we need to finish before one of us gets married) and part of it was a scavenger hunt.

We went all over downtown Savannah finishing this scavenger hunt (which I did not notice had an engagement theme) and ended up at Forsyth Park. This was to be the location of our best friend photoshoot but to my huge surprise this was the spot I was to be engaged. A complete surprise to see him there. He was so nervous but it was so adorable and I was so happy it was finally happening.

The Couple: Grooms Point of View

It alI started when I came down alone for vacation to visit some family. On July 10th I visited the Kingdom Hall and to my surprise I met Michelle. She was completely stunning. I still remember what she was wearing that day. We briefly said hello and she told me Welcome to Ridgeland and then gave me her gorgeous smile. From that day on I was in love. Of course I was very shy as I wasn’t comfortable in such a new environment. A few months later we had went to visit in Atlanta. Mellissa her cousin talked to me more about Michelle and next thing you know I was talking to her the whole way back from Atlanta. It was amazing she has such a great personality. March 9th I grabbed the courage to speak to her parents and ask for their permission to date her. After that my life took a change for the better. A year and a half later I sat with her friends in Starbucks. We planned the whole engagement out and on July 26th 2014 it took place. I was so nervous when I arrived to the park as we had friends and family around. So I hopped out of a bush, walked up to her and proposed. Really don’t remember what I said as I was about to faint from the nerves haha. So here we are now and I can’t wait till October 10th to be with my amazing woman for eternity.

The Venue: Callawassie Island Club

Michelle’s great grandmother was there to witness the wedding and attend the reception. How amazing is that! We always look out for these cherished memories with loved ones while they’re still with us.

Congratulations Jimmy + Michelle. I’m sure you enjoyed your honeymoon in Paris.

Atlanta Engagement Photographer | Jeff and Annette

Centennial Olympic Park treat

It’s funny how many times you can visit a place and still overlook many of its best features. We’ve walked through Centennial Park many times over the years with family visiting from out of town or with friends as we catch a concert or a game at Phillips Arena. Never did we give it all that much thought in terms of photography. Perhaps this was the case because we were always focused on something else, or because of the large crowds that are always present. So this is where we have to extend a big thank you to Jeff + Annette for requesting we shoot their engagement session in this area of downtown Atlanta. Yes, we appreciate their suggestion even on a slightly overcast day when the park was covered with activity. Tourists, street entertainers, joggers and families everywhere. Nonetheless, we were able to embrace the chaos and also uncover many spots we never really looked at before.

Let’s go on an adventure

What really makes the shoot better is having a couple like this to photograph. Easy going, adventurous, and totally in love. Jeff has a very calming influence about him. Annette seems to have a permanent smile. Together they have compatibility written all over them. Inseparable at all times, it really doesn’t take much to find natural moments where you can just shoot away and grab tons of great expressions and emotions. They also understand the artistic importance of photography. So when we asked them to run through the water jets of the Olympic Fountain of Rings on a chilly afternoon so we could try to get some unusual shots; Jeff’s response was an enthusiastic “Let’s go!” Yeah, they got a little wet because of some bad timing; but they did’t care one bit. We had just as much fun behind the camera watching them. not only did we get to see the excitement in their eyes with each other, but the water allowed us to add layers to the photographs as if we were right inside the moment with them. This was just a microcosm of the entire session. The more we explored the park and the neighboring streets, the more they wanted to keep going. Their energy was outstanding and any photographer will tell you that this type of enthusiasm and collaboration only leads to better creativity. It’s because of Jeff + Annette that we have a whole new appreciation for Centennial Park. In the future we look forward to working there again. There are so many additional spots and ideas we left on the table simply because we ran out of time. But that’s a good thing; isn’t it? We can’t wait to work with this couple on the biggest day of their lives. Thanks again Jeff + Annette for such a wonderful afternoon in downtown Atlanta.

They actually met on the stairs near the Carlos Hall so we had to incorporate it for their engagement session.

Their wedding day was overcast, cold and windy but both Ruben and Sasha wouldn’t have noticed. These two were so in love and were phenomenal to work with. We have never seen a couple so cool, calm and collected from the moment we arrived at their hotel until the end of the night. So you might remember Yaquelin and Alex from their amazing engagement session and from the sneak peek we blogged about a few weeks ago. Well here we’re presenting the complete blog post. It was extremely hard to narrow down the photos for this blog.

The Couple: Yaquelin and Alex

These two were simply amazing. To see the love from within themselves, their faith and the love their friends and family displayed, they are sure to have a successful marriage. Alex is from Lawrenceville, Georgia and Yaqui is from Franklin, Tennessee. they met at a convention a few years ago in Dalton. They were both shy but despite the nerves he mustered up the courage to ask for her number and a beautiful friendship began.

The Ceremony:

The day started gloomy and gray with a constant mist but that didn’t damper their spirits. All they could think of that day was the fact that they each were going to marry their best friend and spend their lives together forever. Nothing was going to change that. It was so beautiful to witness. Their first look took place on the white lattice bridge over the lake at Vines Botanical Garden in Loganville, Georgia. It was the perfect setting. It’s a beautiful event facility connected to a manicured park with lakes and trails. The weather cooperated for us despite the forecast.

The Reception: Fifth Avenue Event Hall

After the ceremony, the reception took place at Fifth Avenue Event Hall in Buford, Georgia where the couple danced the night away. We had so much fun with these two along with their family and friends. Congratulations Yaquelin and Alex. May you always remember the love that started it all. We love you!
